Corbel Capital Partners: Meet Jeff Schwartz, Managing Partner

Founder and CEO

Jeff Schwartz

After earning his B.S. in Economics from the prestigious Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Jeff Schwartz set out to make a name for himself in the world of finance. At that moment, however, he didn’t realize the extent of the long and storied path that life was about to take him on.

Over the years, Jeff Schwartz has been a valued member at several financial institutions – with Ares Management, The Gores Group, Lehman Brothers, and Wasserstein Parella & Company being among them. He spent a long time working hard and rising to become a prominent figure in the world of private equity and business financing. He honed his deep understanding of and passion for the industry landscape, coupled with his forward-thinking approach, to every transaction that he was a part of. Both investors and businesses agree that he had a special talent for creating mutually beneficial scenarios for all involved.

But it was in 2013 when Jeff Schwartz finally decided that the time was right to make a change – with that, Corbel Capital Partners was born. From the beginning, it was looked upon as more than just another private equity firm. It is one that has developed a reputation for a logical, structured capital approach to middle-market businesses. Jeff is more than just the founder – he also currently serves as the Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer. After years of growth and development, he’s been a big part of Corbel Capital becoming a driving force in the myriad of different investments that it oversees.

As one might expect from someone who has spent almost three decades becoming a subject-matter expert, Jeff Schwartz tries to share his expertise whenever possible. He’s an active participant in a number of notable industry forums, for example. He’s regularly sought after to offer analysis on financial trends, ever-changing market dynamics, and more.

He is currently on the board of Access Dental Management, Baker’s Computer Services, Real Defense, Upstrem, Inc. and Well Care. In the past, he has held the same distinction for organizations like Ares Security Corporation, General Nutrition Center, Nortek, Inc., Samsonite Corporation, and Tinnerman Palnut, among others.

All told, Jeff Schwartz has contributed quite a bit to the financial sector since graduating from school all those years ago. That is one trend that shows absolutely no signs of slowing down anytime soon. When he’s not hard at work, Jeff Schwartz also tries to devote as much of his time as possible to various philanthropic efforts that he is passionate about. He participates in the Young Presidents’ Organization, for example, also called the YPO for short. This is the largest leadership community of chief executives in the world, with more than 34,000 members. He also spends time working with Happy Trails For Kids. This distinguished nonprofit organization offers overnight summer camps and other year-round activities, all with a heavy focus on the outdoors to the fostered youth of Los Angeles.
